Then visit the library this special after-school STEM event with Horsham Botanical Gardens Team Leader Ryan Johnstone!

Children will build and plant their very own mini greenhouse to take home, complete with seeds, soil and everything they need to continue growing and experimenting at home. • 🌾 Learn why the Wimmera’s unique soils are perfect for growing crops like pulses.
  • 🌿 Explore rare and endangered plants cared for at Horsham Botanical Gardens and how science helps protect them.
  • 🧪 Develop STEM skills through observation, investigation and hands-on experimentation.
  • 💚 Take home extra seeds and resources to keep learning, growing and experimenting long after the workshop has finished.

Perfect for curious minds aged 6–12, this interactive workshop combines science, gardening and discovery in a fun and engaging afternoon. It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet a local expert, get your hands dirty and discover the incredible science growing all around us!
