Edenhope Board Games
Join us for a fun school holiday session for all ages of table board games at the Edenhope Library.
All ages welcome, children under 13 years must be accompanied by an adult.
Library members, your first hot cuppa is on the house!
The dedicated Nurcoung Board Games Group will be on hand to teach the rules and strategies for a variety of games, from modern classics to hidden gems. (Check out some of the games below!)
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, you’ll have the chance to improve your skills and enjoy some friendly competition.
You’re welcome to bring your own board games to share the fun with others, too!
Some games the group might bring are:
CATAN
Embark on a quest to settle the island of Catan! Start by revealing Catan’s many harbors and regions: pastures, fields, mountains, hills, forests, and desert. Guide your settlers to victory by clever trading and smart development.
Carcassonne is a tile-placement game where players build a southern French landscape by drawing and placing tiles featuring cities, roads, cloisters, or grasslands. Players place their meeples as knights, robbers, monks, or farmers to score points. Quick turns and strategic decisions, like where to place tiles and meeples, create engaging gameplay full of options and competition.
Splendor is a game of chip-collecting and card development. Players are merchants of the Renaissance trying to buy gem mines, means of transportation, shops—all in order to acquire the most prestige points. If you’re wealthy enough, you might even receive a visit from a noble at some point, which of course will further increase your prestige.
Terra Mystica is a full information game, without any luck, that rewards strategic planning. Each player governs one of the 14 groups. With subtlety and craft, the player must attempt to rule as great an area as possible and to develop that group’s skills. There are also four religious cults in which you can progress. To do all that, each group has special skills and abilities.
And many more!
