DESCRIPTION:Award-winning Australian author Lyn Yeowart has set her latest novel in and around Horsham, and wants to get the community involved!\nWith two events across two days, Lyn will be unveiling some dark histories surrounding our region and sharing her writing expertise with 20 lucky attendees.\n \nWriting Workshop: The Vault of Errors\nThursday, July 16 from 10am to 1pm\nAward-winning author, editor and writing teacher, Lyn Yeowart, is about to open her Vault of Errors and reveal the mistakes she made early on in her writing career – so you don’t make the same mistakes!\nFocussing on five key principles (and some bonus tips) that will take your manuscript to the next level, this workshop is ideal for beginning and emerging writers. Whether you want to write your family history, a page-turning thriller, or a literary masterpiece, these principles will help you develop a work that tells a compelling and insightful story that people will enjoy reading.\nLyn is a passionate and energetic trainer, who holds a Bachelor of Education, a Post-graduate Diploma in Creative Writing and a Masters in Creative Writing. She works with emerging and established authors, providing editing and consulting services on works-in-progress, and is a mentor with the literary journal Kill Your Darlings.  Her debut novel, The Silent Listener, won the 2022 Indie Book Award for Debut Fiction, was shortlisted for three other national awards, long-listed for the Australian Historical Novel prize, was a finalist in the UK People’s Book Award, and has been translated into French and Russian. It is currently being developed into a television series – and there’s an intriguing  link between the television series and Horsham!\nWhat participants need to bring:\n\nPens\nLaptop, if you have one, with MS Word or other writing software installed\nAny long-form writing that you’re working on (e.g. novel, memoir, family history), but it’s not essential.\n\nBOOKINGS ESSENTIAL.
